is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation
dedicated to working with children, families and communities
to overcome poverty and injustice. Our companies Quinn's Superstore
and Cloughvalley Hire, Carrickmacross and Super Valu and The
Orchard Bistro in Crossmaglen have started to raise funds
to provide fresh water to the Ndala community in Tanzania
where only 2% of people in the rural areas of Ndala have access
to sufficient clean water within 2km of their homes.
The project we are undertaking will give approximately 700
people clean water. We had intended to build a school for
this community but in discussion with World Vision it was
felt that water projects were a greater need at the moment
so it’s back to basics. Clean water is needed for life,
something which many people take for granted.
We are only starting in this endeavour and we are appointing
a fundraising committee in each part of the business, who
will come up with fund raising ideas which we will all take
part in and support over each Bank Holiday weekend starting
with the May Bank Holiday.
We hope our communities in Carrickmacross and Crossmaglen
will help in our fundraising efforts to bring a little joy
and a brighter day.
